# 11.11 sale messaging plan for WhatsApp and SMS (2025)

> An 11.11 messaging plan is a short schedule of who gets which message, on which channel, from about ten days before the sale to the day after. Get WhatsApp marketing templates approved first, send them only to opted-in past buyers, use SMS for everyone else, and prepare the inbox for the replies.

- Submit 11.11 WhatsApp templates to Meta by 1 November so a rejection still leaves time to fix it.
- Send WhatsApp marketing templates only to customers who opted in, and SMS only to contacts with SMS opt-in.
- Three sends are enough for most shops: a teaser, the launch on the morning of 11 November, and a last-chance reminder.
- Every WhatsApp marketing message is charged per delivered message, so a smaller, warmer audience usually earns more per taka.
- Plan the inbox before the broadcast: replies to a sale message arrive within minutes and need fast answers.

Every November the same thing happens. Marketplaces push 11.11 hard, customers start asking "11.11 e offer ache?" from the first week of the month, and small shops decide on the night of 10 November to "send something on WhatsApp". The template is still pending on sale morning, the SMS goes to a list from two years ago, and the inbox fills up faster than anyone can answer.

This plan fixes that with a simple schedule: what to send, to whom, on which channel, and when. It is written for 11.11 2025, which falls on a Tuesday. It works for any Bangladeshi online shop, whatever tool you use to send.

## What should an 11.11 messaging plan include?

An 11.11 messaging plan includes four things: an audience split by consent, two or three approved messages, a send schedule, and a plan for the replies. Most shops get the messages right and skip the other three, which is where the money is lost.

Think of it as a funnel you control. Past buyers who opted in get WhatsApp. Customers who only gave you a phone number at checkout, and agreed to SMS, get a short SMS. Everyone else gets nothing from you directly, and you reach them through your page and ads instead.

## Which customers can I message for 11.11?

You can message customers who gave you their number and agreed to hear from you on that channel. On WhatsApp this is a hard rule: Meta's [Business Messaging Policy](https://whatsappbusiness.com/policy/) says you may only contact people who gave you their number and opted in to receive messages from you.

Split your list into three groups before you write a single word:

| Group | Who is in it | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp opt-in | Customers who messaged you on WhatsApp or ticked a WhatsApp updates box | WhatsApp marketing template |
| SMS only | Customers who agreed to SMS but are not on your WhatsApp list | One or two SMS |
| No consent | Old numbers from a courier sheet or a bought list | Nothing. Reach them with page posts and ads |

If you are not sure what counts as consent, read our note on [opt-in](https://salemag.net/glossary/opt-in). The short version: a customer who asked "price koto?" on WhatsApp last month is a much warmer contact than a number copied from a delivery slip.

Then narrow further. A broadcast to 8,000 people who bought once in 2023 costs more and sells less than a send to 1,500 people who bought in the last six months. Start with recent buyers and repeat buyers, and widen only if you have budget left.

## When should I send each 11.11 message?

Send three messages at most: a teaser two or three days before, the launch on the morning of 11 November, and a last-chance reminder that evening or the next morning. Everything else on the calendar is preparation.

| Date (2025) | Task | Channel |
|---|---|---|
| 31 Oct to 1 Nov | Pick the offer, clean the list, write templates | None yet |
| 1 to 4 Nov | Submit templates to Meta, fix rejections, book SMS sender ID | WhatsApp, SMS |
| 5 to 7 Nov | Build audiences, send test messages to your own phones | All |
| 8 or 9 Nov | Teaser: "11.11 coming, set a reminder" | WhatsApp to warm buyers |
| 11 Nov, 9 to 10 am | Launch: the offer, photo and a button | WhatsApp, SMS |
| 11 Nov, 7 to 8 pm | Reminder to people who did not reply or order | WhatsApp |
| 12 Nov, morning | Last chance, only if the offer runs that long | SMS or WhatsApp |
| 12 to 16 Nov | Order confirmations and shipping updates | WhatsApp utility templates |

Two timing tips from the Bangladeshi inbox. Morning sends get replies through the office day, when your team is at work. Late-night sends get replies at 1 am, when nobody is there to answer. And avoid sending the launch at the same minute as every big brand; 9:30 is as good as 9:00.

## How do I write 11.11 WhatsApp templates that get approved?

Write each 11.11 template as a [marketing message](https://salemag.net/glossary/marketing-message), be specific about the offer, and leave out anything that looks like spam or a trick. Meta reviews every template before it can be sent outside a customer's 24-hour window.

A launch template in Bangla might look like this:

```
১১.১১ অফার শুরু, {{1}}!
আজ রাত ১২টা পর্যন্ত সব পাঞ্জাবিতে ২০% ছাড়, ঢাকার ভেতরে ডেলিভারি ফ্রি।
পছন্দের ডিজাইন দেখতে নিচের বাটনে চাপুন।
[Offer dekhun]  [Stop offers]
```

And a Banglish version for customers who write that way:

```
11.11 offer shuru, {{1}}!
Aj rat 12ta porjonto sob panjabi te 20% chhar, Dhakar bhitore delivery free.
Design dekhte niche button e chap din.
[Offer dekhun]  [Stop offers]
```

What helps approval:

- **No variable at the very start or end.** "{{1}}, your offer..." is a common rejection. Put fixed words first.
- **A real offer, stated plainly.** "20% off panjabi until midnight" is fine. "Huge surprise, click now!!!" is not.
- **One clear button.** A quick reply such as "Offer dekhun" also opens the conversation, so you can reply with normal messages inside the 24-hour window that follows.
- **An opt-out.** A "Stop offers" quick reply, and a person who actually switches the contact off when someone taps it.

If a template is rejected, the reason usually points to the fix. Our guide to [WhatsApp template rejections](https://salemag.net/blog/whatsapp-template-rejected-reasons) covers the common ones.

## How much will an 11.11 WhatsApp broadcast cost?

Since 1 July 2025, Meta charges per delivered template message, and the rate depends on the template category and the recipient's country. Marketing templates are the most expensive category. Check Meta's current [rate card](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/whatsapp/pricing) before you plan the send rather than trusting a figure from a forum.

The maths is simple once you have the rate:

| Line | Example |
|---|---|
| Recipients in the launch send | 1,500 |
| Teaser + launch + reminder sends | about 1,500 + 1,500 + 900 |
| Total marketing messages | 3,900 |
| Cost | 3,900 x Meta's marketing rate for Bangladesh |

Your sending tool's plan is a separate cost. Only delivered messages are charged, so numbers that are not on WhatsApp cost nothing on WhatsApp but also reach nobody. That is one more reason to use SMS for them. Meta also limits how many marketing messages a person receives from businesses in a period, so not every message you send will be delivered, especially on a crowded day like 11.11.

## Where does SMS fit in an 11.11 plan?

SMS fits as the short alert for customers who are not on your WhatsApp list. It reaches any mobile number, needs no Meta approval per message, and works on basic phones. It cannot carry a photo or a button, and in most tools it is one-way.

Keep 11.11 SMS short and complete:

```
11.11 OFFER: sob panjabi 20% off, aj rat 12ta porjonto. Order: wa.me/8801XXXXXXXXX  -ShopName
```

A few practical points:

- **Length.** A standard English SMS holds 160 characters per part. Bangla script uses Unicode, which holds far fewer characters per part, so a Bangla SMS often costs two or three parts. Send a test and check how your gateway bills it.
- **Sender name.** A branded sender (masking SMS) needs approval through your SMS provider, and that takes time. Book it now, not on 10 November.
- **Link to chat.** A wa.me link moves the customer from SMS to WhatsApp, where you can actually talk.

## How do I handle the replies on 11.11 day?

Plan the replies before you press send, because a sale broadcast turns into a wave of chats within minutes. Say your launch reaches 1,500 people and one in ten replies. That is 150 conversations in the first hour, most asking the same five things.

Prepare for those five things:

1. **Saved replies** for delivery charge (for example ৳60 inside Dhaka, ৳120 outside), delivery time, size chart, exchange policy and "offer kotokkhon?".
2. **Stock levels** checked the night before, so nobody promises an XL that sold out at 10 am.
3. **One person per channel**, or a shared inbox where chats are assigned, so two people do not answer the same customer.
4. **A rule for complaints and bulk orders**: they go to the owner or senior staff, not the newest team member.
5. **An order format**: name, phone, full address, area, item, size, quantity. Typing it differently in every chat is where wrong parcels come from.

If you expect more chats than your team can handle, an AI assistant that answers from your own catalog can take the repeated questions. A shared inbox with assignment keeps that hour under control.

## How can SaleMag run an 11.11 campaign?

SaleMag can run the WhatsApp and SMS sides of this plan from one contact list. You write WhatsApp templates there, submit them to Meta and see when they are approved or rejected, with the reason. A [WhatsApp broadcast](https://salemag.net/features/whatsapp-broadcast) then goes to a segment, a tag, all contacts or a CSV, and contacts without WhatsApp opt-in are skipped automatically. Sends can be scheduled in your timezone, and results show delivered, read and failed per recipient.

SMS goes out through your own gateway account, including Bangladeshi providers such as REVE SMS and MimSMS. SMS is outbound only, so customer replies to an SMS do not reach the inbox. Replies to WhatsApp messages do, where your team or the AI chatbot answers them. SaleMag plan prices are on the [pricing page](https://salemag.net/pricing). Meta and your SMS provider bill their messages separately.

## Next steps

Today, write down your 11.11 offer in one sentence and export your past buyers. By 1 November, submit three templates. By 7 November, send a test to your own phone and brief your team on who answers what. If you want WhatsApp broadcasts, SMS and a shared inbox in one place, [start free with SaleMag](https://salemag.net/register).

## Steps

1. **Clean the audience**: Export past buyers, remove duplicates, and split them into WhatsApp opt-in, SMS-only and no-consent groups.
2. **Write and submit templates**: Write a teaser, a launch and a last-chance template, submit them to Meta by 1 November, and fix any rejection.
3. **Schedule the sends**: Schedule the teaser for 8 or 9 November, the launch for the morning of 11 November and the reminder for the evening.
4. **Prepare the inbox**: Write saved replies for delivery charges, sizes and stock, and decide who answers which chats on sale day.
5. **Send order updates after the sale**: Confirm every 11.11 order with a utility template or a call, and update customers when parcels ship.

## FAQ

### When should I submit 11.11 WhatsApp templates for approval?

Submit 11.11 WhatsApp templates at least a week before the sale, around 1 to 4 November 2025. Meta often reviews templates quickly, but a rejection or a recategorisation needs time to fix.

### Can I send an 11.11 offer on WhatsApp to every number in my phone?

No. WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy only allows messages to people who gave you their number and opted in to hear from you on WhatsApp. Sending offers to cold numbers leads to blocks, reports and a lower quality rating.

### Is WhatsApp or SMS better for an 11.11 sale?

WhatsApp is better for opted-in past buyers because it carries photos and buttons and customers can reply. SMS is better for short alerts to customers who are not on your WhatsApp list. Most shops use both.

### How many 11.11 messages should one customer get?

One customer should usually get no more than three 11.11 messages in total: a teaser, the launch and a last-chance reminder. More than that raises blocks and reports, which hurt your WhatsApp number's quality rating.

### Why did some customers not receive my WhatsApp marketing message?

Meta limits how many marketing messages a person receives from businesses in a period, so some sends are not delivered even when your template is approved. Other common reasons are a missing opt-in, an invalid number or a customer who blocked you.

### Can I write 11.11 WhatsApp templates in Bangla?

Yes. Choose Bengali as the template language when you submit it to Meta, and write the text in Bangla. Keep Banglish and English versions as separate templates if your customers use them.
