For many sellers in Bangladesh, the Facebook Page is the shop. Ads and posts bring people in, and almost every sale starts with a Messenger message: "price?", "size ache?", "delivery charge koto?". During an Eid or 11.11 rush, those messages pile up faster than any team can answer. SaleMag puts your Page's Messenger chats into a shared inbox and adds an AI chatbot that handles the repeat questions.
What is a Messenger chatbot, and what does SaleMag's do?
A Messenger chatbot is software that replies to messages sent to a Facebook Page, so customers get answers without waiting for a person. SaleMag's Messenger chatbot combines a team inbox for your Page with an AI that answers from your own products and policies. The table shows each part:
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| Inbox | Every Messenger chat appears next to your WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram chats |
| Team tools | Assign a chat, add labels and internal notes, use saved replies |
| AI chatbot | Answers from your knowledge base and product list |
| Order taking | Builds the cart and sends a secure order-form link |
| Handover | Passes the chat to a person and notifies your team |
Photos and other attachments the customer sends come into the thread, so your team sees the whole conversation in one place.
How do I connect a Facebook Page to SaleMag?
You connect a Facebook Page to SaleMag by logging in with Facebook from Channel Setup and picking the Pages you manage. SaleMag stores the Page connection and subscribes it to Meta's webhooks, so new messages arrive in the inbox as they come in. You can connect more than one Page, which helps if you run separate Pages for clothing and cosmetics, for example.
How does the Messenger AI chatbot answer customers?
SaleMag's AI chatbot answers Messenger customers from a knowledge base that you build, in the language the customer writes in. A knowledge base can hold:
- your product catalog, synced from Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce, or added by hand
- text you type, such as delivery charges and return policy
- files (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV and others)
- web pages or a sitemap from your website
- question-and-answer pairs
The bot is instructed to state facts only from that material and the customer's own orders, so it does not invent a price, a policy or a phone number. A customer who writes "eta koto taka?" gets an answer in Banglish, and one who writes in Bangla script gets Bangla.
The bot can also see the customer's last 3 orders, so "amar order ta kothay?" gets the status your team recorded instead of a guess.
Can a Messenger chatbot take orders?
Yes. With SaleMag's AI order taking on, the Messenger bot looks up every product in your catalog before it quotes a price, builds the cart with sizes and colours, and then sends a secure order-form link. On the form the customer chooses a delivery area, such as Inside Dhaka or Outside Dhaka, enters name, phone and address, and places the order. Payment is cash on delivery.
Your team gets a numbered order, such as CH-000123, and a notification. The in-WhatsApp form is a WhatsApp feature; on Messenger the customer always gets the link.
When does a person take over from the Messenger bot?
SaleMag's Messenger bot hands the chat to a person when it cannot answer, when the customer asks for one, or when the request needs judgement. With handover switched on, the bot stops and hands over when:
- it does not have the answer in its knowledge
- the customer asks for a human, agent or real person
- the request is a complaint, a bulk or wholesale order, a custom request, or a change to an order already placed
On human handover, the chat switches to human mode and your team is notified. The bot also stops auto-replying once a chat is assigned to a person. When anyone on your team replies, the bot stays quiet in that chat for 15 minutes, so two voices never answer at once.
What Meta rules apply to a Messenger chatbot?
Meta's Messenger Platform lets a Facebook Page reply freely within 24 hours of the customer's last message, and limits what a Page can send after that. Plan your follow-ups for the same day the customer writes, and keep your Page in good standing with Meta's policies.
Messenger chatbot vs Meta's automated replies: what is the difference?
Meta Business Suite's instant replies and FAQ buttons send the same fixed text every time, while SaleMag's chatbot reads the question, checks your products and policies, and answers that specific question. SaleMag's bot also hands off when it should, and your team gets one shared inbox for every channel instead of switching between apps.

Can SaleMag's Messenger chatbot reply in Bangla?

Does SaleMag reply to comments on my Facebook posts?
No. SaleMag answers Messenger messages sent to your Facebook Page, not comments on your posts.
Can a person take over a Messenger chat from the bot?

Yes. Everyone on your team works from the same SaleMag inbox, with assignment, labels, internal notes and saved replies.
