What is a quality rating?
Every phone number on the WhatsApp Business Platform has a quality rating. Meta calculates it from how customers have reacted to your messages over a recent period. The strongest negative signals are people blocking your number and reporting it, along with the reasons they give.
The rating has three levels:

| Medium | Yellow | Complaints are rising; review what you send. |
| Low | Red | Many blocks or reports; your number is at risk. |
A number with a low rating may stop moving up to higher messaging limits, or have them reduced. Meta also tracks quality per template and can pause a template that customers dislike.
Why does it matter for sellers in Bangladesh?
Your WhatsApp number is often your main sales line, printed on parcels and Facebook posts. If you broadcast an offer to everyone who ever ordered, including people who never agreed to promotions, blocks pile up fast. A falling rating can then limit the order updates you need to send. Protect it with opt-in, relevant segments and sensible frequency.
Example
A shop sends three offers in one week to 5,000 past buyers. Many block the number, and the rating turns yellow. The shop pauses offers, sends the next one only to customers who replied YES to promotions, and the rating returns to green over the following weeks.
