Social media planner for online shops: plan a week with AI

How Bangladeshi online shops can plan and schedule a week of Facebook and Instagram posts with AI, around sale seasons, without posting at midnight.

By SaleMag Team6 min read

It is 11:45 pm, and a Mirpur clothing shop owner has just packed the last parcel. Tomorrow's Facebook post is not written. She takes a photo of a kurti on the packing table, writes "New stock! Inbox for price", and goes to sleep.

Some weeks that works. In the busy weeks before Eid, when the Page should be busiest, it is the first thing to slip. The Page goes quiet for four days, and the inbox gets quieter with it.

Planning a week of posts in one sitting fixes that. This guide covers what to post, how to plan around Bangladeshi sale seasons, where AI helps and where it does not, and how to make sure posts turn into messages.

Why should an online shop plan posts a week ahead?

Because the weeks when you have the least time are the weeks you most need to post. A planned week keeps the Page active during a stock rush, a sick day or a sale.

Planning also improves the posts. When you write seven at once, you can see the mix. You notice that four of them are "new stock" and none show a happy customer, and you fix it before anyone else notices.

For an f-commerce shop, the Page is the shop window. A planned week is the same as making sure the window is never empty.

What should an online shop post each week?

Use a fixed weekly mix, so you never stare at a blank caption box. Five post types cover almost every shop.

Post type What it shows Example caption idea Job it does
New product One item, clear photo, price "Notun cotton three-piece, 4 ta color" Starts price questions
Customer proof A review screenshot, an unboxing photo "Chattogram theke Nusrat apur feedback" Builds trust for COD buyers
Offer A time-limited deal "Shukro-Shoni free delivery Inside Dhaka" Creates urgency
How-to Size guide, fabric care, styling tips "Kivabe apnar size mapben" Reduces questions and returns
Behind the scenes Packing, sourcing, the team "Aajker 80 ta parcel ready" Makes the shop feel real

A simple week: product on Saturday, how-to on Sunday, proof on Monday, product on Tuesday, behind the scenes on Wednesday, offer on Thursday, product on Friday. Adjust the order to your own busy days.

Ask customers before you post their reviews or photos, and hide their phone numbers and addresses.

Which networks matter for a Bangladeshi shop?

For most shops, Facebook comes first, Instagram second, and the rest depend on what you sell.

Network Role for a typical shop
Facebook Page Main storefront; most messages start here
Instagram Fashion, beauty, gifts and anything visual
TikTok Short product videos, if you can make them regularly
YouTube Longer videos: reviews, tutorials
LinkedIn Mostly for B2B sellers and wholesale
X Rarely useful for small Bangladeshi shops

Do two networks well before adding a third. A Page that posts daily beats four networks that post once a fortnight.

How do you plan posts around Bangladeshi sale seasons?

Mark the big dates on your calendar at the start of the year, and start teasing each one two to three weeks early. These are the seasons most shops plan for:

Season When Planning note
Ekushey February 21 February Respectful posts; many brands avoid hard selling
Pohela Boishakh 14 April Red-white collections; post from late March
Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha Moon-dependent; check the government holiday list The biggest weeks; publish delivery cut-off dates early
Durga Puja Autumn; dates vary each year Big for clothing and gifts
11.11 11 November Countdown posts for a week before
Victory Day and winter 16 December onward Winter wear, year-end sales

Before Eid, plan three kinds of posts: collection launches, reminders of the last order date for delivery before Eid, and a "thank you" post after. Our 11.11 messaging plan shows how to line posts up with WhatsApp and SMS for a sale.

How can AI help plan and write posts?

AI is good at first drafts, variations and turning one idea into a week of angles. It is bad at facts about your shop.

Give the AI a clear brief: the product, the goal, the dates, the tone and the language. For example:

Topic: winter shawl collection, 6 colours, pure wool
Goal: get people to message us on WhatsApp to order
Dates: 1 to 7 December, Asia/Dhaka
Tone: friendly, short sentences
Language: Bangla, with prices in taka

Then edit hard:

  • Check every price, size and date. AI will happily invent a price or a delivery promise.
  • Fix the Bangla. AI Bangla can be stiff or formal. Rewrite it the way you talk to customers.
  • Cut the hype. "Ultimate", "best ever", "don't miss" make posts sound like spam.
  • Use your own photos. Real product photos beat anything generated.

How do you turn posts into messages and orders?

End every post with one clear way to order, and get the inbox ready before the post goes out.

  • One call to action: "WhatsApp e message din: 01XXXXXXXXX" or "Inbox e 'shawl' likhe pathan". A WhatsApp link or QR code makes that one tap.
  • Answer comments with a nudge to message. Many buyers comment "price?"; reply asking them to send a message so you can answer properly.
  • Update prices and saved replies first. If you promote a shawl at ৳1,450, make sure every person and every bot in your inbox quotes ৳1,450.
  • Plan staff for the post time. A post at 9 pm needs someone, or an AI assistant, answering at 9:15 pm.

Instagram works the same way. Our guide to Instagram DM automation covers the DM side.

How does SaleMag's social planner handle this?

SaleMag's social planner publishes one post to Facebook Pages, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and YouTube from one composer, with live previews and the shortest character limit of the selected accounts enforced. Posts are scheduled in your timezone, and a month calendar shows the plan by day.

Its AI planner takes a topic, a goal, a date range, a timezone and a tone, and drafts 3 to 14 posts with suggested times and copy for each network. It runs on your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key and does not create images. Instagram posts are single images only; Reels, carousels and Stories are not supported, and TikTok and YouTube videos upload as private. If one network fails, the others still publish, and a retry only goes to the failed account. SaleMag does not reply to comments, but Messenger and Instagram DMs land in its shared inbox.

What should you measure?

Measure messages, not just likes. A post with 40 likes and 25 messages did more for the shop than one with 300 likes and two messages.

Each week, note which posts brought the most messages and orders. Use your network's insights for reach and engagement. After a month, you will know which post types to do more of, and the mix table above becomes your own.

Frequently asked questions

How often should an online shop post on Facebook?

There is no single right number. Many small shops do well with one post a day or four to five a week, as long as they keep it up every week. Consistency matters more than volume, so pick a number you can sustain and check your Page insights.

Can AI write Facebook posts in Bangla?

Yes. Most AI writing tools can draft Bangla captions if you ask for Bangla in the prompt. Read every draft before posting, because AI Bangla can sound stiff and it may get prices, sizes or dates wrong.

What should an online shop post on social media?

Post a mix of new products, customer proof such as reviews and unboxing photos, offers, useful how-to posts like size guides, and behind-the-scenes posts from packing or sourcing. Each type does a different job.

Can I schedule Instagram Reels with SaleMag?

No. SaleMag publishes and schedules single-image Instagram posts. Carousels, Reels and Stories are not supported, so post those from Instagram directly.

Does SaleMag reply to comments on my posts?

No. SaleMag publishes posts but does not reply to Facebook or Instagram comments. Direct messages from Messenger and Instagram arrive in the SaleMag inbox, so ask commenters to send a message.

Does a social media planner show likes and reach?

It depends on the tool. SaleMag's planner reports posts created, published, scheduled and failed, but likes, reach and comments stay in each network's own insights.
