Meta Business Verification

Meta Business Verification confirms that your business is real using official documents. Learn what it unlocks on WhatsApp and which papers sellers use.

What is Meta Business Verification?

Meta Business Verification is a check you complete in your Meta business portfolio (formerly Business Manager). You give Meta your legal business name, address and phone number or website, then upload official documents that show the same details. Meta reviews them and marks the business as verified.

On the WhatsApp Business Platform, verification:

  • lifts the starting messaging limits so you can reach more customers per day,
  • is required before you can request an Official Business Account,
  • builds trust with Meta when it reviews your display name and templates.

Why does it matter for sellers in Bangladesh?

Many f-commerce shops run on a personal Facebook profile with no trade licence on file. That is enough to start on the API, but you will hit the lower limits the first time you broadcast an Eid offer. Getting a trade licence and verifying early saves a scramble in the busy season.

Tips that avoid common rejections:

  • Use the exact legal name from your trade licence everywhere.
  • Make sure the address on the documents matches the one you enter.
  • Keep a website or a phone number that Meta can check against the documents.

Example

A Chattogram home-decor shop enters its name exactly as on its trade licence, uploads the licence and a utility bill with the same address, and receives a verification code by phone. A few days later the portfolio shows Verified, and the shop can grow its daily reach.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the WhatsApp API before I am verified?

Yes, with restrictions. Unverified businesses can start on the Cloud API but have lower messaging limits and fewer options until verification is done.

What documents work in Bangladesh?

Commonly a trade licence, a tax or VAT registration certificate, or company incorporation papers, plus a utility bill or bank statement if the address needs proof. Meta's accepted list can change, so check it in the verification screen.

Why was my verification rejected?

The usual reason is a mismatch: the legal name, address or phone on the documents does not match what you typed or your website.
